Day 33 - Macro filter and more HDR

Just some more shots around the kitchen today.

Yesterday we made sangria with Ali and Mike to go with our paella. This is the leftover fruit still infused with the alcohol:

I decided to shoot a bit with my macro lens filter. It's essentially a magnifying glass that screws on the end of the zoom lens like a filter. Depth of field is somewhat limited, but the filter set was only $20 or so vs. the few hundred I don't have for a real macro lens yet.

When did I buy minced girl?

The reflection bothers me, but I love the shapes.

Oh that baby :o)

These last two are my second attempt at HDR. The composition isn't all that interesting, but this time I used the two second timer, and that significantly reduced the shake. I might try weighing down my tripod, too.

Canon EOS Rebel XSi 18-55mm IS AF kit lens, UV filter, and some macro filter action. When I got my macro filter set, it was before I got my XSi which, even though I already had an 18-55mm lens with my film EOS G, I got with the lens. The old one has a 52mm end and the new has a 58mm, so I use the macro filters with the old lens, which doesn't have image stabilization. I didn't realize it at first, but the new lens is way better than the old. IS was totally worth the extra cost.
