Day 115: The Great Beet Massacre 29Feb2012
Making a beet puree soup for soup night tonight. While cutting and peeling my beets it reminded me of a bloodbath, hence the massacre part. I am inspired to do a beet series now, since beets are fantastically beautiful.

Day 114: More Feet 27Feb2012
I didn't really have much direction for this photograph, although I will say that a photographer's feet are probably the easiest to capture. I liked this photograph for the blurry purple foreground (my preggo belly in an awesome purple sweater my sister sent my way) and for the lighting.
Only one more to go for this month. Now for ideas for next month!

Day 113: Feet 27Feb2012
I wanted an abstract photograph of a part of my body; this is my feet, bottoms together. I might need a pedicure...

Day 111: Brown 25Feb2012
Brown as a warm color. Coming up with ideas is becoming more and more challenging.

Day 110: Perspective 24Feb2012
Since you see my mug so often, I figured I'd give you a different perspective. I'll admit, it does bother me that my "horizon" is severely crooked, but you could say it adds to the different perspective concept.
Day 109: Obstruction 23Feb2012
I was aiming to obstruct a part of my face to make the photograph more interesting. I think it worked.

Day 108: Fun with face paint 22Feb2012
I wanted to utilize more color in this portrait, so I got out the face paints and went to town. I particularly like the yellow on my eyelashes, which was an unintentional surprise.
Day 107: Color filters, Part 2 21Feb2012
Here is another shot using the color filters. This one was using red as a lens filter. I like this photo because it captures a bit of my weird eyes: the left is near-sighted and the right is far-sighted, so my pupils are different sizes in dimmer light, or when a camera flash goes off.

Day 106: Flash Filters 20Feb2012
For my birthday, my awesome sister sent me some flash filters for my shoe flash. This picture was taken with a cerulean blue (teal) filter.

Day 104: Blue 18Feb2012
Happy Birthday to my Grandma Edna! She would have been 93 today.
I was in the blue bedroom at my husband's grandparents home in Buena Vista, wearing blue jeans and a blue shirt, so I thought it a good opportunity to capture the color blue. I was going for blue as a calm and relaxed color.

Day 103: Collage 17Feb2012
I used photovisi.com to make a photo collage of objects that signify different times in my life. From left to right, top to bottom: the shoes I wore at my Christening; a picture of my young self; my 8th grade intramural volleyball trophy; an elephant I got from a friend in high school; the lens from my first SLR camera; the jewelry holder I made at UNH with a bracelet from my grandmother and sister; a necklace my mom gave me; a necklace my other grandmother owned and gave me; my MS diploma; my wedding band and engagement ring; one of T's bows; my St. Valentine's Day present from my husband.

Day 101: Guy? 15Feb2012
I was trying to look like a guy in this shoot, but I found out it's hard to make me look manly, which is a good thing. Here is my best effort:
I also took a photo with my hair down, and it came out looking like an 80s beauty shot. Hehe.

Day 100: Happy St. Valentine's Day 14Feb2012
My wonderful husband and I. I felt it was appropriate <3
Day 99: Muted 13Feb2012
I originally liked how my blue eyes went with the blue shirt I was wearing, but I didn't end up getting my shirt in this shot (I'm still wearing it!). I muted the colors and I think it turned out beautifully.

Day 95: Picture Framed 09Feb2012
I cut and pasted myself into these frames that hang in our half bath. Hooray PS!

Day 93: Close up 07Feb2012
I went into this photo shoot with the intention of doing some black and white photography, but I ended up liking it in color instead.

Day 92: Camera Face 06Fev2012
I got the idea for this portrait from one I found online of a woman in the woods holding a mirror in front of her face, the trees reflected in the mirror (I don't remember where otherwise I'd post a link). The superimposed picture is of the AFGA Ansco my dad gave me. I also used the shoe flash from his AE-1, and I am quite pleased with the results. This is my favorite portrait so far.

Day 89: Yarnoholic (What the Heck is "Yarnohol"?) 03Feb2012
Today's self portrait is meant to show my love of yarny things. The part of the title in parentheses is for my husband, who always asks what chocohol and shopohol (etc) is whenever he sees an "oholic" sign (chocoholic, shopoholic, you get the idea). Please note the lovely Jayne hat, knitted by my lovely friend Cory, for those of you who know of such awesome things. Cunning, ain't it?
I know I said I would only post one picture a day, but being covered in crocheted things and also being in my warm, south-windowed bedroom made me cranky. This next picture is pretty much how I felt though most of it.
I've been loving making self portraits, even though they are sometimes frustrating. While shooting without an agenda is nice sometimes, it has been quite satisfying shooting with intent.

Day 88: Self Portrait in Antique Mirror 02Feb2012
A while ago I got an antique dresser that's as heavy as the dickens and it came with a neat mirror that obviously wasn't covered the last time it was stained. It gave me a neat way to do some self portraits. I might post some of the others on Google+ later. This one was my favorite.
I'm super happy with the lighting, thanks to my white walls, big windows and 300 days of God-given CO sunshine.

Day 87: Belly shot 01Feb2012
Day one of self portraits, this one is of my pregnant belly. The message is one more to myself than anything.
