Day 2 - Canon EOS Rebel XSi 18-55mm IS AF stock lens, UV filter

Today the weather was a little nicer; it was still cold and overcast but not precipitating. The air is chilly and crisp and has that feel as though it could snow. I love that.

I also got my copy of Outdoor Photographer in the mail today. My friend Laura got me a year's subscription as a bridesmaid gift, and it has some great articles on how to improve photographs. The one I tried today was slightly underexposing to make colors more lively contrasted against the darker blacks. Here's my first attempts:

Both shots: ISO 400; f/5.6; 27mm; 1st half 1/100, 2nd half 1/125

Both shots: ISO 400; f/5.6; 49mm; 1st half 1/200, 2nd half 1/250

I'm excited to play more with exposure correction in both directions. Next time I'll be sure to actually use the exposure correction button on my camera instead of trying to manually correct. I think the difference will be even more apparent. I'm excited to learn more about my camera and photography technique. It will help me be more intentional about the photographs I make.

And finally, one more picture for today:

ISO 200; f/5.6; 1/80; 18mm
